sunday morning music.
currently playing lana del rey’s album, born to die.
it has taken me the entire semester to like her. seriously, i used to hate her voice. yet, her lyrics kind of rule. so, this morning, i played “summertime sadness,” and it just fit. i graduated last night. my summer has started and high school has ended. forever. don’t get me wrong. it’s not high school i’m feeling nostalgic for. it’s the changes that are to come. the distance from best friends. my mom not waking me up every morning. typical worries, but they never get less frightening. this summer and beyond present a new time though that i cannot wait to experience. congratulations, beech senior high school class of 2013.
by the way, listen to lana del rey on rainy, nostalgic sunday mornings.

i’m graduating today, but i don’t feel like there’s anyway i could be old enough for this to be happening. i needed someone to hype me up, so thank you white stripes.
i guess this is the end but the start at the exact same time.

rainy hipster days.
hot day music.
currently playing all avett brothers.
it’s hot. like, i’m in shorts and a loose t-shirt, but i’m still dying a little. this is not enjoyable. however, driving around listening to the avett brothers has definitely improved my day. even the morose songs have brightened my day. too bad i won’t be seeing them saturday night. stupid graduation.

sick day music.
currently playing fall out boy’s save rock and roll.
i am home to day for two reasons. 1. there was a shooting threat at my school. 2. i have a nasty cold threatening to ruin my ability to take my ap test tomorrow. so, i slept until noon and decided fall out boy would improve my health. which they obviously have. i practically tear up at my joy for their return.

i had the best prom ever.
get ready music.
currently playing the black keys.
i have my senior prom tonight. and my date is picking me up in, oh… two hours? and i’ve only painted my nails this far. luckily, the black keys are slowly helping to motivate me. i missed their show in nashville last night, but at least i know they’ll get me through these next couple of hours of demotivation. maybe i’ll even make the effort to get out of bed soon.

sunday morning music.
currently playing the drums’ record, the drums.
last night, actually just yesterday in general, was kind of lame. but, today is a new day. interact is over, and i am no longer out in the cold. so, adorable lyrics from adorable babes has brightened this morning. i know down by the water sounds a tad melancholy, but the words are precious.
“baby, if you fall asleep down by the water, i’ll carry you all the way home.”
plus, if you just listen to all their albums on repeat, they definitely make the mornings a little better. listen to them on chilly, but sunny, sunday mornings.
